The first thing I did when I arrived in Madrid was to find out which shows were currently playing in the local theaters. The performance of \"Swan Lake\" at the Teatro de la Luz Philips Gran V\u00eda caught my eye. Even though I wasn't particularly fond of this ballet, I was glad I decided to experience it in the theater. The highlight of the performance was Anna Scechaleva's brilliant portrayal of both the White and Black Swan.<\/p>\n

Watching this performance reminded me of a statement made by the director of movies \"Black Swan\" and \"The Wrestler\" during an interview. He said, \"Some people consider wrestling to be the lowest form of art, while ballet is viewed as the most refined art form. But what astonishes me are the similarities between ballet and wrestling. They both express themselves by doing things that seem almost impossible!\"<\/p>\n
