Located in the central southern mountains at an altitude of 1,868 meters, Nuwara Eliya is the highest region in Sri Lanka and a major production area for Ceylon tea. Many buildings from the British colonial period remain here, earning it the nickname \"Little England.\"<\/p>\n

This is one of the oldest post offices in Sri Lanka. The Tudor-style red brick building with a clock tower has become a prominent landmark of the country. Since its completion in 1894, it has continuously served as a post office.<\/p>\n

The postcards sold here are of good quality and cheaper than those at tourist spots (50 LKR per card).<\/p>\n

Gregory Lake is located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya. It was built in 1873 and named after Sir William Gregory, the governor of Sri Lanka at that time.<\/p>\n
