The history of the Gueta Tower, constructed to ward off evil, dates back to 1908. At that time, Bitan Village, situated downstream of the Bazhang River, was frequently threatened by floods. To ensure the safety of the villagers, the decision was made to build the Gueta Tower, with the hope of invoking the power of the water god to protect the village. At the top of the tower rests a stone turtle facing the Bazhang River. Its lifelike posture creates the impression that it is attentively observing the river\u2019s flow.
