I've finally saw glaciers with my own eyes! Even though I felt like I was about to freeze, it was still all worth it!
Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina, located on the border with Chile, is the third-largest glacier outside of Antarctica and Greenland. In 1981, it was also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most tourists come to El Calafate to see the glaciers. Before going to see the glaciers, you can choose a glacier tour you like from the various travel agencies. I booked a glacier boat trip for the following day while I was there.
As the tour bus entered the national park and approached the Perito Moreno Glacier, the view from the bus window was already stunning. The cruise that followed was unforgettable!
During the cruise, the surface of the lake was occasionally disrupted by thunderous sounds. Due to global warming, it has been discovered that the edge of the glacier is collapsing at an accelerating rate each year. Witnessing the troubling sight, I truly understood the urgency of the global warming issue and the need for the development of green energy.
