Lake Titicaca, situated at an elevation of 3,812 meters above sea level on the border of Peru and Bolivia, is the highest navigable lake in the world. It captivates travelers with its stunning beauty and the unique experience of sailing on a high-altitude mountain lake.

◦ Lake Titicaca

During a trip to Peru, whenever I talk to travelers who have been to Lake Titicaca or locals about Puno, everyone praises it enthusiastically. Upon reaching Lake Titicaca, I finally understood why it comes highly recommended. The sky at high altitude is exceptionally azure, and the brilliance reflected on the surface of the lake is dazzling. The views captured through the windows of the boat resemble postcards. The scenery alone is enough to make me remember it for a lifetime!

◦ Uros Floating Islands

In the 13th century, the Incas invaded the Uros tribe, compelling them to reside on the water. The Uros constructed floating islands using reeds. Today, there are approximately 95 islands, with the majority anchored to the lake bed, forming settlements. During our stay on the reed islands, our welcoming hosts often took us on boat rides, introducing us to local restaurants, schools, and hospitals.
