During high school, the subject that gave me the greatest sense of achievement was history. The logical reasoning behind cause, the inevitable rise and fall, and the fatal attraction of the past in mystery all deeply fascinated me! Stepping into Machu Picchu, a place of great significance in the Inca civilization, was truly a dream come true!

◦ How to Get to Machu Picchu
There are various transportation options from Cusco to Machu Picchu, including trains, buses, and even trekking along the railway. I chose to take a bus to Aguas Calientes, spend a night there, and then visit Machu Picchu the next day.
After researching, I booked tickets, accommodation, and entrance tickets through the local travel agency, Pie Experience. From inquiries to completing the journey, I was very satisfied with their service. Their prompt responses, thorough explanations, and excellent arrangements for accommodations and restaurants allowed me to rest well after a challenging day.
The itinerary of Pie Experience was professional. Even if you don't purchase their package, you can find inspiration on their website to plan the itinerary that best suits you.
◦ Dreams Come True
Machu Picchu, situated at an altitude of 2430 meters, is the best-preserved site of the Inca civilization from the 11th to the 16th century. Combined with the nearby ruins, the entire Andes became a witness to the peak of the Inca Empire. As I stepped onto Machu Picchu, the Sky City of Peru revealed itself before me, and the sense of joy and wonder that filled me was indescribable.
◦ After Machu Picchu, What's Next?
After exploring the ruins, there is an option to climb either Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu, both of which offer panoramic views of the entire site. I chose to ascend Machu Picchu Mountain. During the four-hour round trip, the steep slopes, which seemed endless, tempted me to give up at times.
After about an hour and a half, other climbers began to encourage me, saying,
"Only 15 minutes!"
"You're almost there!"
When I reached the summit, I felt like I was strolling among the clouds!
After completing the journey, I researched Machu Picchu Mountain and read descriptions from experienced climbers. They described it as a vertical ascent of 652 meters, with difficulty levels ranging from intermediate to challenging. The entire route has slopes of at least 30 degrees, which become steeper and narrower as you ascend. If I had read this before starting, I probably would have given up. Sometimes, ignorance can be a way to find courage.
